Travelers going to Thailand
be aware of these scams. I regret I didn’t have time to read those reminders.
We had a very bad experience in Thailand.
Part 1: Entering their border via Poipet-Ayanpratet took us almost 4 hours to get out from their immigration. We thought that’s the worst experience in Thailand. As we pass departure scanner, an officer stop one of our friend telling that there is packed cigarettes in her baggage even though she doesn’t smoke. They forced her to open the bag and see no cigar. All they saw are 6 Kipling bags (gift for family), coffee, souvenir and clothes. They took all the bags.
It took us 5 hrs going to Bangkok. We look for the hotel (near Khaosan) where we were booked but it was a crappy shit when we get there!!
Part 2: tuktuk scam which led to gem scam and tailor scam
Exiting Thailand is also heart nerving. You don’t know if you will be left behind there after what we’ve gone through. It’s only after passing their immigration our heart stops pounding so fast. At last I’m heading to my country.
I’ve been to Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore,Saudi Arabia, Qatar and only Thailand gave me night mares on travelling.
Fellow travelers don’t include Thailand in your lists. Maybe if you really want to visit Thailand at least be informed.
I don’t intend destroying the reputation of Thailand but at least give warning also to travelers. It is a wake up call for their authorities to stop such kind of scams destroying the whole country.
Thank very much.
