We bought a Class B cabin ticket from one of the stores in Vientiane (@ Elegant Botique, Rue Pangkam street) going to Bangkok. After we bought the ticket, there will also a car service provided from your hotel to the station. You won’t be able to see the ticket and verify if everything is correct because they will give you the ticket as soon as you get off from the car service or as the service leaves. It’s also hard because there’s a language barrier with the driver because they don’t speak English. My friend noticed that there’s wrong in the ticket cabin class. She tried to verify it with the driver as he leaves but the driver can give no answer.
As we arrived in Nong Khai (Thailand side) and about to board the train, we saw the cabin for us, and it’s a class C. Fans are there (not air conditioned) and it’s very hot and the place looks rusty and dirty. We tried talking to the train authorities but they said that they cannot do anything as the ticket was bought in Laos. So instead, for settlement they just told us that we have to pay an additional THB 100 to be upgraded to where we supposed to use – a class B cabin.
