27 October 2017; Siem Reap, Cambodia
How it works:
It was night time and i was walking around at siem reap night market around my hostel i stayed. There was a bar around the market and i decided to take a few drinks before going back to the hostel. As i was enjoying my drinks at the table, comes 3 person (2 women wearing a nice traditional outfit and a man with a polaroid camera) and they greet me nicely. The ladies asked if i would let them take my pictures with them and assuming the just want pictures with foreigners, i just agreed.
So the guy actually take few pictures of me with the ladies using his polaroid. But to my suprise, the guy asked me money for the pictures. I was shocked because they are the one who asked me for pictures, not me. All three of them said that the polaroid already printed and i have to pay for the pictures. I was so angry and argued but they speak broken english and it make our conversation seems like no end to it. I was so infuriated but i did pay half the price they asked for which is still a lot for a polaroid photos but it seems there no other way and i am already tired that night.
The lesson here is to beware if someone asked for photo taking, be sure to clarify with them wether you have to pay for the photos.
