I just spent 20 days in Morocco. It was one of the best experiences of my life. The people were warm, funny & friendly.
I think this site is accurate. Most of what’s on the list is applicable to big cities anywhere in the world, especially ones that rely on tourism. Marakesh & Casablanca have almost 6 million people each. They are huge cities. You have to employ street smarts, have a thick skin and research where you are going before you go.
We had attempts at aaaallll these annoying scams…the nice guy, the stupid tannery tour, the fake herbs & oils…and two attempts at pick pockets. But most of these kind of crazy attempted scams, I’ve experienced in Chicago (where I live), NYC, Mexico, Italy, Portugal, etc, etc. Just read up before you go.
Morocco is a beautiful and incredible place.
