Unfortunately, we were scammed in Crete. I have bought fake jewelry, and it was so realistic that I was already home, hundreds of kilometers away when I noticed I was scammed.
The gift was for my girlfriend, and the moment that she noticed it was fake was under the shower. It just started changing color when in contact with water. I was so angry and embarrassed, and it cost me around 30 euros!
The funniest thing is that I haven’t purchased it on the street, it was bought in a fancy store. It looked like an everyday jewelry store you see in your home town. Everyone was dressed up nice and were very polite. Maybe just one of the employees was involved in this scam…I guess I will never know.
Luckily my girlfriend was more upset I was scammed than she was upset for the fake present I gave her. To comfort me, she even said that now it looks even better. That’s why I love her. 🙂
Anyway, watch out for this type of scam because it can cost you much more money than it costed me.
