When is Expedia going to crack down on the fraudulent Car Rental scams operated by most rental agencies in Puerto Vallarta Mexico?
Usually it is the agencies forcing Expedia clients to purchase $20/day Liability Insurance which Expedia clearly states is included with additional insurance being optional.
This time in addition to the insurance scam Budget made a fraudulent claim of $660 against my credit card after the rental was paid which they now refuse to refund, forcing me to launch Master Card and Profeco actions against them.
Previous complaints to Expedia have not been taken seriously I will not be using Expedia again.
After many years of being scammed by various big name rental agencies located around Puerto Vallarta Airport I have come to the conclusion that the franchises are all held by one individual, this would explain the fact that the scams are consistent and similar and that I have seen the same employees working in different agencies.
The only exception to this is Sixt where additional liability insurance is still an option. I would highly recommend them. The only reason I did not use them this time was that I needed a 7 seater and they did not have one available
