How it works: Sellers at the entrance of the local bazaar charge you extra high for home prepared spices. Since you have no idea about the regular prices inside the bazaar, you pay whatever they ask for and it is usually 5 times the original price.
We saw this old man at the entrance of the bazaar, selling home grown spices. Everything was neatly packaged inside glass jars. We had no idea what the regular prices or what other sellers charge since we never been inside that bazaar before. So, we settled with whatever the old man asked for. Later on, while checking other spice sellers, we found out that we paid 5 times more for similar items at the market.
Places to beware: Chios Island, Greece
What to do: Check all the prices at the bazaar and then bargain with the sellers unless you want to pay extra for over priced items.
