How it works:

  • Similar to the classic American ride scam in Havana, you think the price quoted initially is the total for everyone on the ride, but will be told at the end that it is for each person.

Places to beware:

  • Havana: Old Havana
  • Varadero: Varadero Beach, Josone Park, Varadero Street Market
  • Santa Clara

What to do:

  • Negotiate the amount, currency and clarify that it is for the total for everyone on the ride.
  • Even then, some will still quote a different price at the end.
